Consistency has never been more important than with online posts.
If you submit a post on Tuesday that gets a lot of attention, you’re on the radar, so to speak with your prospects and followers. When these same people see another relevant and informative message from you on Wednesday or Thursday, you’ve established yourself as the authority on the topic. Your followers will take note the next time they see your post because you have earned their trust. They expect you’ll have something worthy to share.
It’s that easy to build rapport.
It’s just as easy to lose it though. You know the saying: “Out of sight – out of mind.” If you wait until the next week to show up in social streams, those who thought so highly of you the week prior, have already forgotten about you. You must keep the momentum going.
Social marketing is an efficient way to stay top of mind with your followers and prospective clients. Posting throughout your work day can be distracting and get you off your schedule if you’re not careful. That’s why I like to do as many posts ahead of time where applicable. There are several great programs out there that allow you to frontload your posts. See my article from last week on my recommended time load your schedule up. Today’s article is to show you just how easy it is.
I like to use hootsuite, so I will walk you through how to set it up and let your posts run on autopilot!
1) Go to hootesuite.com and create an account. Just by clicking the social network tabs, and logging in to each one, hootsuite syncs with them in just seconds.
2) Your dashboard will open. The first thing you’ll want to do is open the Publisher as this is where you’ll type your message. But, go ahead and choose which of your social sites you plan to post your message.
3) Now it is time to compose your message
4) A box will open. Simply type in your message
5) Go to the website/landing page that you want to lead your viewers and copy that URL. In this case, I want to lead users to my blog page on my company’s website. I will go to that URL and copy (Command C)
6) Go back to hootsuite and paste the URL (Command V) and click Shrink
7) Now you are ready to schedule the day and time you would like to post
8) Here we will schedule a post at 1:00pm on July 23 – then click schedule
9) New post is added!! Now continue to add your posts for the next few weeks! It will look similar to this…
And that’s it! Easy enough right!? Load that calendar up and stay in front of your followers!
